We built it with one goal in mind: to make finding, checking and booking accommodation in Brezno as simple as possible – without endless e-mails and waiting for a reply. The biggest new feature is the online reservation system, where you can see free dates and the exact price of your stay straight away.

How online booking works
Booking accommodation in Brezno takes just a few minutes:
- Choose your dates. Click your arrival and departure day in the calendar. Occupied days are marked and the calendar is connected to Booking.com, so you always see the current availability.
- See the price. The total price of your stay is shown immediately – no surprises when you pay.
- Send a non-binding request. Fill in your name, e-mail, phone and number of guests. Right after sending, you will receive an e-mail with your reservation number.
- We confirm. We check your request and confirm it as soon as possible. Only then is the booking binding.

Where to find Apartment Sárka
The apartment is at Československej armády 38, 977 01 Brezno, on the 3rd floor. The historic town centre is only about 350 metres away, so the square, cafés, restaurants and shops are a short walk away. Parking is free, directly in front of the building – leave the car once you arrive and explore the town on foot.
If you travel by public transport, Brezno has both a railway and a bus station, from where you will reach us in a few minutes by taxi. Detailed directions by car, train or bus are on the Contact and directions page.
Brezno – a historic town below the Low Tatras
Brezno is the natural centre of the Horehronie region and its history goes back to 1265. The heart of the town is M. R. Štefánik Square with historic burgher houses, the town hall that houses the Horehronie Museum, and the parish church. Around the square you will find cafés, pastry shops and restaurants where you can unwind after a day in the mountains.
The advantage of staying right in town is that everything is at hand – shops, a pharmacy, services and evening plans – while the mountains are just a few minutes' drive away.
Ski resorts near Brezno
In winter, Apartment Sárka is an ideal base for skiing in the Low Tatras. From Brezno you can choose from several resorts:
Tále, Mýto pod Ďumbierom, Krpáčovo and Čierny Balog (15–20 minutes)
The nearest resorts are roughly 15 to 20 minutes away by car. Tále near the village of Bystrá is a popular family resort with well-groomed slopes, Mýto pod Ďumbierom and Krpáčovo are pleasant options for quieter skiing, and Čierny Balog is great for families with children and beginners.
Jasná – Chopok South and Čertovica (35–40 minutes)
The south side of Chopok – part of the largest ski resort in Slovakia, connected to the north side across the ridge – is about 35 to 40 minutes away. Čertovica, in the saddle between the Ďumbier and Kráľova hoľa parts of the Low Tatras, is about the same distance.
After skiing you return to a quiet, warm apartment where you can cook dinner in the fully equipped kitchen or head into the centre for a meal.
Summer around Brezno: hiking, cycling and trips
The area around Brezno is just as beautiful in summer. Here are a few ideas for trips from the apartment:
- Ďumbier (2,043 m) – the highest peak of the Low Tatras. A popular route leads from Mýto pod Ďumbierom via Trangoška to the M. R. Štefánik hut and on to the summit.
- Chopok – a ridge hike with views over both sides of the Low Tatras.
- Bystrá Cave – a show cave in the village of Bystrá, on the way to Tále. A good option for a rainy day too.
- Čierny Hron forest railway – a historic narrow-gauge railway in Čierny Balog, a highlight for children.
- Vydrovo valley – an educational trail and forestry open-air museum near Čierny Balog.
- Kráľova hoľa (1,946 m) – the symbol of Horehronie and a goal for a longer full-day trip.
- Muránska planina – a national park with karst landscape and Muráň castle, south-east of Brezno.
- Cycling – the valleys around Brezno offer routes for relaxed riders as well as more demanding climbs.
