This page explains how we process the personal data you give us when you book Apartment Sárka or contact us, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the protection of personal data.

2. What data we process

  • Reservation form: name, e-mail, phone number, number of guests, dates of stay and your note.
  • E-mail or phone enquiries: your contact details and the content of your message.
  • During your stay: the data we are required to record by law (for example for the local accommodation tax or the registration of foreign guests).

3. Purpose and legal basis

  • Handling your reservation request and providing accommodation — steps taken before entering into a contract and performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Fulfilling our legal obligations, e.g. under accounting, tax and accommodation regulations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • Answering your questions sent by e-mail or phone (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).

We do not use your data for marketing and we do not sell it to anyone.

4. How long we keep the data

We keep the data only for as long as necessary to handle your reservation and stay. Data we must keep by law (for example accounting documents) is kept for the period set by the relevant regulations. Data from requests that did not result in a stay is deleted without undue delay once it is no longer needed.

5. Who has access to the data

  • The providers of web hosting and e-mail services that run this website for us (processors bound by a contract).
  • Booking.com receives only the dates on which the apartment is occupied, so that the calendars stay in sync — no personal data of guests.
  • Public authorities, where the law requires it.

6. Cookies and third-party services

When you first visit, we ask for your consent to cookies. Without it, the website stores only the cookie with your choice and does not load any third-party service. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. We do not use advertising cookies. Fonts are served from our own server.

  • Necessary — the sarka_consent cookie remembers your choice for 180 days. The administration of the website also uses a strictly necessary login cookie.
  • Analytics (with consent) — Google Analytics 4 by Google Ireland Ltd. gives us anonymous statistics on how the website is used (pages visited, device type, approximate country). It stores the cookies _ga and _ga_* for up to 2 years. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Advertising features are switched off.
  • External media (with consent) — the Google Maps map on the Contact page. When it loads, your IP address is sent to Google and the map may store its own cookies.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to data portability and to object to processing. To exercise your rights, write to info@apartmansarka.sk.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava, dataprotection.gov.sk.
